Dean Leas has over 25 years experience in the computer industry. He has Bachelor of Science degrees in both Physics and Aerospace Engineering, and a Masters of Science degree in Computer Science. Dean has served as the President of D&D Consulting, an Aerospace Engineering Firm with contracts in several government and military departments. Dean also instructed aerospace and computer science courses as an Associate Professor for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University at their Arizona and Florida campuses, and served as an instructor pilot in the United States Air Force. Dean also holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate and Flight Instructor’s certificates. During his tenure with D&D Consulting, Dean consulted with TRW Defense Systems Group in developing the Space Defense Operations Center (SPADOC) at NORAD in Colorado Springs. He also consulted with the Mitre Corporation, a federally funded research organization for the Department of Defense, to develop end-to-end testing for the JSS Air Defense System at NORAD in Colorado Springs. Dean was a lead engineer and quality manager for a team that developed over 132,000 lines of executable formula translation (FORTRAN) code for SPADOC. Dean has served as a testing engineer and quality assurance engineer for the Bechtel Corporation at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (PVNGS) in Arizona. He was instrumental in developing the procedures for meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s requirements for nuclear fuel load at PVNGS. He has led a company through ISO 9001:2008 certification as the Quality Manager and ISO Coordinator. Dean was also the Program and Project Manager deploying an encrypted Data Network for the Department of Defense between 54 remote DCIS offices and the Pentagon. Dean currently holds several industry credentials including PMI Project Management Professional, HP Master Accredited Systems Engineer and Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist in Project 2007. |
